Week 4, Day 6 – Biggest Loser Resort Niagara

IMG_7694I went to stretch for the second day in a row today and I am really enjoying it. The trainer I have had is Mary Beth and it is a very relaxed atmosphere and the stretch also takes away any stress you woke up with. It really helped me out because all of the pool classes from the day before really tired me out and I was very sore.

Day 19: Biggest Loser Resort Niagara

IMG_7605Kind of an emotional day since it was my last full day of workouts and it went by fast.  I really enjoy Fridays at the resort because the hike is gorgeous and the two afternoon classes go by fast.  It is a day of reflection where you remember all of the thing you laughed and complained about with your fellow guests.  I am blessed to know that I will only be gone for one week, and get to come back to some friends I have made here.  For all the people that are going home for good I really wish them all the best and all the luck in the world.  It is tough when you leave here for good and know you are now responsible for all the great things you get here daily without thought.

Day 17: Biggest Loser Resort Niagara

IMG_7573Kind of an odd day today as I woke up with a pain on top of my knee, and had no idea what it was. At first I thought it was where I had crawled around on pavement, but on closer examination there was a white head in the center of my knee and the pain was surrounding it by about 4 inches and was slightly red. As I talked to one of my friends here at breakfast he found a similar thing the same morning on his ankle and was told it was a bug (spider) bite. I hate spiders…. It figures I would get a bite while I was here, and it really does give me some shooting pain from time to time, but it is not as bad as my friend’s bite on his ankle. He is going into town to get a doctor to look at it, and unfortunately will be missing classes.

Day 5: Biggest Loser Resort Niagara

IMG_7152The day once again started off with me snoozing through stretch, but the extra sleep has been good for me.  Coming to the resort I have had some problems with snoring and waking up on and off, but all the working out here has made me sleep like the dead.  I woke up feeling pretty invigorated considering all the work I had put in throughout the week.  The best part of the day for me was knowing I was going on an offsite hike.  The offsite hike was at Letchworth State Park, and it was far better than I expected.

Day 4: Biggest Loser Resort Niagara

Along the hiking trailIt looks like I am going to be using my stretch time each morning to sleep.  I am still catching up on these blog posts and not waking up early like I should to keep it all fresh in my mind.  I will be completely caught up this weekend though.  Thursday my energy was up and I was definitely ready to go in the morning.  There was a good lecture on goal setting that changed the way I looked at some of my own goals.  Having our trainer explain that it is better to set weekly total minute goals for gym activities rather than number of days in the gym.  If you set up  total minutes you can always catch up at the end of the week by working out more and accomplish your goal.   If you had said you were going to go 5 days a week for at least 45 minutes and you were sick 3 days you have not left yourself much wiggle room since there are only so many days of the week.  I think that little tidbit will help me.

Days 1 through 3: Biggest Loser Resort Niagara!

View of the Lake (Pond)The first three days have flown by here at the resort. Just like my last trip to Utah I am finding it hard to have time to write and talk to my family here in the beginning. Initially all I want to do when I get back to the room after dinner is call my wife and go to bed at 6:30-7:30. Just getting back in the routine and changing between classes leaves very little time to write or even think. I am pretty much back in the swing of things again, so I will be pushing onward with the blog entries.

Breaking the fast and my stomach!

Well the last two days have been great as far as getting to chew food consistently once again. I never really knew how bad I missed it till I was able to masticate once again. I find it hard to believe that I have stil manage to lose a little over 1lb in these two days where I have reverted to solid food. I weighed in at 313.8 this morning, and I was 315 when my fast ended. To say that I am happy to still see the scale moving down would be an understatement. It is giving me confidence going into my vacation that I can maintain and maybe even add to my total weight loss. I am 39lbs down and getting ever so close to being out of the 300s once again (this time for good.) (Click Continue Reading for more)

Day 17 – Going in the right direction…

Best news of the day when I woke up is that I am down to 326.6! That is 2.4 pounds from the morning of the day 17. I am glad to see that I am still going to see some decent surges after my plateaus. It is really motivating and keeps me on the right track with this sort of diet/reboot. It is not easy, but one of the great benefits is the fairly consistent drops in my weight. I have now lost 26.2 pounds as of my 18th morning on this juice/liquid fast. That is pretty good as far as I am concerned. (click continue reading for more)
