At Home Day 4, Wednesday: Things are going better, whew!

I have survived the storm that was the beginning of the week. This is definitely a hump day to remember. I am back on track and things are looking up. It was not a great workout day, and I did eat out twice, but I was in control the entire time. I had felt like I had lost control there for a bit, but things are getting back to normal.

At home day 3, Tuesday: Sad to say but I hit a new low today

Well I have rushed through but I have caught up, and I feel I really needed to since I just did something I never thought I would do. I had an early dinner with the kids and proceeded to binge on leftover birthday cake. This alone would be bad, but the worse thing is that I was so disgusted with myself I made myself puke the cake back up. It is difficult to share something like that considering I know how many friends and family read this, but it is something I need to do. I have never done something like that, and definitely will not again. It is a sad feeling to have to lose control that bad. I never before thought I was capable of that, but again I see how far I have to go. I called Jen and she is going to get the cake out of the house tonight, but I obviously have a ton of work to do.

Day 6 at the Biggest Loser Resort in Malibu: Sometimes just surviving is finishing strong…

Well this is pretty much my last day since I have to leave really early in the morning on Saturday after weighing out.  Today my legs are finally completely out of gas and I am just trying to make it through.  It has been a very busy week, and I am proud to have pushed it this week.  I am not going to do a training session today, 3 of 5 days with personal training sessions is enough and my legs are not going to do me any favors.

Day 5 at the Biggest Loser Resort in Malibu: Piuma hike and hard core training session yet again…

It was a great day at the resort, but I am beat! The hike we did today is called Piuma, and it was a fairly challenging hike. It is almost all straight up and on some really rocky terrain which makes for slow going at times. It was gorgeous and once I got passed my soreness and exhaustion I enjoyed it. I am at the point now where I am not running out of breath on the hike, but I am not able to convince my tired legs to move very fast. It is an odd disconnect to try to push your legs and the muscles just respond at 70% capacity. It is like moving through water (which I actually did do later.)

Day 4 at the Biggest Loser Resort in Malibu: Life is a beach…

This day was a real @$$ kicker if you know what I mean. I was lucky enoughto be part of the first off site training here at the resort. Sam Poueu took four of us down to the beach in Malibu and proceeded to decimate us in a training session. It was great, but at the same time I am crazy sore now. The culmination of all the work this week has left my arms and legs just weak feeling. Burning 820 calories was completely worth it. I am definitely glad this hump day is over, but proud to have survived it.

Day 3 at the Biggest Loser Resort in Malibu: Hikes, training, and classes, oh my!

It was a gorgeous day here and we definitely took advantage of it.  From having an amazing hike out at Oceanview to being able to eat outside on the new tables they have here, it was really great.

Day 2 at the Biggest Loser Resort in Malibu: time to move it move it

Changes around here for the most part seem to be good, and it is great to be back. Everyone is excited I am back and I never grow tired of the “Wow you are getting smaller” comments. I still believe that hardest thing to explain to people about this place is the atmosphere, and that is created by the people. The staff here are amazing and they really care, and the other guests are always open and friendly when you get here.

Resort day 1, check in, weigh in and meeting back up with some great people

Well I am back, and it is quite a trip to get out here from Kentucky. Well worth the trip considering it was in the 60s when I got here, sunny and gorgeous. There is definitely a big mix of emotions coming back here. It is always a little weird for me meeting so many new people and this time knowing I only have a week to get to know anyone. It is a quick trip and many people here are multi-week guests. I was amazed at how many extend stay people were here and starting this week. One person is here for 18 week! That is hard to believe, but I wish them the best. It is hard to stay away from family and friends for that kind of period of time, but this place helps people work on themselves so much I think that could be a great life changing experience for that person.
