Day 19: Biggest Loser Resort Niagara

November 24, 2013

Comments/Thoughts: (9/06/2013)

IMG_7605Kind of an emotional day since it was my last full day of workouts and it went by fast.  I really enjoy Fridays at the resort because the hike is gorgeous and the two afternoon classes go by fast.  It is a day of reflection where you remember all of the thing you laughed and complained about with your fellow guests.  I am blessed to know that I will only be gone for one week, and get to come back to some friends I have made here.  For all the people that are going home for good I really wish them all the best and all the luck in the world.  It is tough when you leave here for good and know you are now responsible for all the great things you get here daily without thought.

I was able to do two fun things this evening, play a card game and get an emotional release massage.  I have heard all sorts of stories and rumors about the masseuse here that is super empathic and helped people release emotional issues through a specific style of massage.  I enjoyed it, and it really helped me talk through some things that have been on my mind.  Cynthia really did seem super intuitive, and if you go in with an open mind you can get something out of it.   When I finished the massage I went upstairs and some of my favorite people were engaged in a card game called Cards Against Humanity.  It is like Apples to Apples, but it is very adult themed and typically very inappropriate.  It is one of the few times I have played a card game and my sides have hurt at the end from laughing.  It is not for the faint of heart or the easily offended, so beware.

Exercise:

IMG_7602The day started out with a hike at Letchworth State Park.  Once again it is a beautiful hike with challenging inclines and over 200 stairs if you are in the middle or advanced hiking groups.  The only two other exercise classes of the day were spinning and strength circuit.  I had all my gear once again for spin class, and my toes still get sore even in my spinnings shoes for some reason.  I am now able to focus on the workout in spin class and like the feeling when I am done, I would recommend toughing it out since it is the highest calorie burn of all the classes.  Strength circuit went by super fast and I was done for the day with some slightly sore muscles.

Food:

IMG_7591Breakfast was the berry parfait for me today, and I always worry it is not going to be filling enough, but it proves me wrong each time.  The soup at lunch was onion which was fantastic and it was followed by one of the best lunch entree yet!  The grilled steak pita was the largest meal here to day and it was amazingly flavorful!  It comes with a tzatziki sauce that is pretty good, and the steak and pita themselves are large and in charge.  If I had been served that much in a restaurant I probably would have asked for a to go box to take half home.  Of course that is now after my stomach is shrunk, and just so you know I did eat the whole thing.  They say we need to keep our energy up, right?
