Day 23 – Nice Dinner No Cheat!

As of the morning of my day 24 I am down another 1.6 pounds putting my total weight loss so far at 29.2 pounds!  Every time the scale drops I get a little more excited as I edge closer to my goals.  It has definitely been a great experience doing this experiment with my diet.  Consuming liquids for 23 days has taught me that I can keep myself from overeating and control my cravings.  Controlling my cravings, in of itself, is a great lesson.

Last night I made a huge dinner for my wife and a couple of friends consisting of steak, smoked gouda mashed potatoes, green beans, salad with homemade chart house blue cheese dressing, and some mint juleps to drink.  Guess what though?  I had zero of it and say and drank my juice.  I have noticed that my desire to cook is off the charts even though I am not able to eat what I cook.  Also, when I have a craving for something I just make it for my wife and kids and the craving goes away once I smell it and they get to eat it.  It is almost like the emotional connection with that food has been transferred and fixed via smell.  It is very odd but is working for me, now I just have to make sure I don’t fatten up my wife and kids!

As far as food went on day 23 I had a fruit juice in the morning, and then I had a 50/50 veggie/fruit blend for lunch and dinner.  I was spot on with my juicing for the day and have found that honeydew covers up a TON of spinach juice flavor.  I did not workout at all, but plan on doing some walking and/or kettlebells today (Wednesday.)

Happy and moving forward… Hope some readers are in the same boat.

    Glad to hear things are moving well for you! Seeing the scale move is a huge motivation for me too. I’m not quite at that point where cooking isn’t a challenge. My “cheats” have been bites of veggies and I want to work on the self-control of not eating without it being fuel and right now the juice is all the fuel I need.

      Thanks so much, yeah things are moving forward at a good clip. Wish my vacation was after the 60 day mark instead of 34!
