The Wednesday Weigh In…

January 6, 2012

I weighed in on Wednesday (1/4/12) and was pleased to see that I was at 300.5 still.  I wanted to be at least a pound less, but considering how poorly I ate over my holidays two week break I will take it!  I have continued to go to the gym an average of 4 times per week, and am still aiming more at 5 times.  I have cleaned my diet up considerably over the last several days, but I still need to get more mentally tough at night.

I have had a problem at night of snacking on some not so healthy options such as low sugar peanut butter and dark chocolate.  I am not sure why I have not been able to kick that habit, and that I only have the desire at night.  I will eliminate it or it will slow down my weight loss.  I really would like to get down to 289 by February and I think that is a realistic goal.  290 is a plateau marker (of course so is 280!) and I need to plow past it.   2012 is the year I need to make it down to 250 if a rapid fashion so that I can move forward in my health journey (I know you love the journey stuff Louis!)

Anyway, I figured I needed to put something up, I have noticed my desire to post is waning and I feel the need to start at least putting up some markers to get myself more in the writing and performance mood.  Perhaps my lack of significant news to report on my weight loss puts me in that mood, but I feel it is all linked and thus I need to work on it all.  To those of you that still read this thanks, and I know we are all working towards the same ends.  Good luck this year, we can do it.

the fact you maintained your weight loss over holidays is HUGE! Don’t discount that. I find I’m most encouraged by others who face the same struggles. Reading about pure success is great, but hearing that there are ups and downs and good days and bad is even more inspiring. Keep blogging — the good and the bad!!!! It’s all part of the journey :)

Journeys suck. Change how you eat and live, evolve.

    What’s up with the Juicer?

Yeah, I know what you mean by journeys suck, I prefer no waiting and just being at my destination, but I am a lazy fat American in recovery at the moment. =) The juicer is a blendtec blender and is my latest gadget. I am obsessed with all gadgets (sports, kitchen, technological) and this one is pretty awesome. I am trying to get my greens down my pie hole and have decided to experiment with spinach/kale in my smoothies. Another awesome thing it can do is soups and other cool foodstuffs. I think I am going to use it in conjunction with my new camera to go through the cookbook that comes with it and get my photography and my blog rolling along.

Anyway, I will have a post on it up soon. How is paleo treating you? I do think that fundamentally that diet is appropriate and hope your adjustment to it is going well.
