Still moving, and still losing…

On Monday I jumped right back in with my personal trainer Mary, and my wife tagged along for a good workout.  We did some cardio interval work and then went and did a core workout.  It was a solid hour and I did some 8.0, 8.5 and a 20 second 9.0 sprint to end my cardio.  It felt great to push it and show my wife and trainer how far I have come in just 3 short weeks.  Working out an hour a day causes a smidge of guilt to creep up in me, but I am trying to not “should” all over myself and to remember that pushing it hard for 1+ hours 5-6 days a week is what I need to do as far as exercise.  I did a treading session plus 20 minutes on the elliptical on Tuesday and Wednesday was training with my trainer again and I soaked my shirt!  My real work to get done is mentally and nutrition wise.

As far as the food has gone I have not started counting calories per say, but I have been meticulously measuring my portions and limiting my intake.  I have been helping finish off some tenderloin my wife had left over from a party so a couple of my meals have had some beef in them.  The typical meal though was been about a 3-4oz baked potato, a green veggie and about 3.5-5oz of tenderloin.  That is not bad at all, and my breakfasts on Monday and tuesday were toast and 2 eggs (sound familiar?)  I have had a couple of pieces of dark chocolate, and I was a little disappointed with myself for having a leftover square of quiche one night post dinner.  I have forgiven myself for it, and it did not result in a huge binge.  Positive is still great then negative and I am chugging along.  I spent about 5 hours yesterday making vegetarian chili, a huge batch of black beans, a MASSIVE pot of red beans which I cooked with ham hocks in it, but no other added meat.  I removed the hocks and did not let the meat break up in the 4 pounds of beans I made so I am actually happy that there is not too much added fat in the beans.  I portioned the chili into 2 cup containers and the beans into 1 cup containers and made some rice to go the the 1 cup of beans.  Everything is portioned out and half is frozen so that should last me for awhile.  My goal is to have 1600 to 1900 calories per day so that is 500-600 calories for my meals.  I KNOW I am below that even with a little shrimp grazing I have done.

It is currently Thursday morning as I finish this and I weighed in at 300.8!

      Working on it! Going to assess myself on Wednesday and then start the push from my current status!

    Keep at it, and we will have to race again to 250 lbs.
