Day 7 at the Biggest Loser Resort in Utah.

November 27, 2011

Comments/Thoughts:

Finally so close to the actual day I am on!  Saturday was an outstanding day!  The optional hike I went on was with Kim, Sean and Brendi and it was not too challenging, but very scenic and interesting.  It is called Anasazi and is right out behind the resort.  There are ancient pictographs chiseled into the rock formations and I think some of them depict aliens, but maybe that is just me being my crazy self.  It was good to hang out with the new friends all at once on the same hike, Kim, Brendi and I were in the same van all week, but Sean was in the advanced van since he has been here so long is a hiking champ.  One of the great parts of the day was a nice rewarding dinner at Benjai Thai sushi in St George!  We each ordered 1 roll and a “good” appetizer of choice.  I had a cup of hot and sour soup with some chicken in it.  The rolls were amazing and they were a good replacement for our dinner, though I know we probably went a couple hundred calories over.  That was just because of a mistake in ordering one calorie dense roll, but there were no regrets.  We actually left a piece and some of the appetizers which is saying something and I drank WATER!  That is a big deal for me and I was proud of myself for the restraint.  It was actually just Kim, Sean and I and once again Sean graciously drove us around.  We missed Brendi, but had a great time.  Right before we went out I got to go to graduation and it was a good time and hard at the same time.  The video was actually great since Brendi had flipped off the camera to not be in the video and he spent time highlighting and flashing an R rating up during the video.

Exercise:

As I mentioned we did the hike and it was amazing.  It was not difficult but it was very picturesque.  The history and views were amazing and we still burned over 1000 calories.  After the hike I went to the Last Chance Workout, and that was tough and very rewarding.  It has only been going on in Utah for two weeks.  The workout consists of 10 stations set up in the gym and each one goes for one minute with a run outside the gym after every two stations.  It goes fast but it is a 90 minute workout and the pace is brutal.  I loved it and know I burned over 1000 calories in that time.  That is much greater then when I was in Malibu on Saturdays when we would come back and usually do a stretch and that would be the end of the day.

Food:

As usual the food was great.  The breakfast offered was Granola cereal but I had eggs and toast as usual.  Lunch was an asian chicken wrap with a salad that had some avocado based dressing.  I put some siracha and some liquid aminos(soy sauce like) on the wrap and it was amazing.  As I mentioned earlier we had a sushi dinner and it was fantastic!  This is actually some of the best sushi I have had and it is in the middle of the desert.  I did not take any pictures of it, and I feel bad for that.  You will just have to trust me that we did well.  =)

    Dwayne,

    Week 1 down…get the mind right…make it strong…

Your mind is stronger than your body, you can will yourself to break all barriers.

Remember even those who you think are strong, inside still feel weakness and frustration. Case in point, http://www.fattestblog.com/my-blog/2011/11/11282011-offical-weigh-in-is-crossfit-my-problem.html .

Find the tenacity you should me on the beach in Malibu. It’s within you, take it home with, make this the last time you ever have to go to fat camp.

    Love your brother in struggle.

Wow thanks for posting that man, it is great to remember that day, and to hear Sam counting me down. You kept me going that whole workout.
