Thoughts for the day that was: August 3rd, 2011

It was a good day as far as my diet went.  I kept myself in line and got to my 1800 calories a little faster then I wanted to thanks to a visit to Applebees with my wife and some great soup and salad time.  It was good though to balance my eating as opposed to ignoring the problem.

I wrote the other day about how I was motivated to keep my word to my wife and that was one of the ways I was going to refocus on my weight loss.  I tried to get out of another obligation that was weighing me down considering how much stuff I took on at once versus what my real goals were.  My wife reminded me that she would not let the kids quit something they had started and that I should at least finish the obligation out.  I have to admit the actual person I gave my word to did themselves no favors by being rude, but as my wife pointed out they were not the person I needed to satisfy, it was myself I should worry about.  Finish what you start, that is what my entire journey is about right?  So anyway, I made the decision to stick with it and finish it out and now I feel even more focused on moving forward.

Sorry about being so vague, the details really do not matter, it is more the overall point.

Onwards and downwards right?

Breakfast:  Kind Bar, Starbuck Veni Iced Coffee with Half and Half

Lunch: 1 cup Basil Tomato Soup, 1 Cup French Onion Soup, Santa Fe Chicken Salad

Dinner: Cedarlane Frozen Eggplant Parmesan

Post Dinner Snack: Grande Starbucks Mocha Coconut Light Frappachino

Calorie Total: 1776

Workouts: August 3rd, 2011

I did not workout!  BAD DWAYNE!

    So half your calories for the day were from Starbucks? Did you walk over to pick it up twice?

      Actually I did not workout, but I did swim in the pool with the kids for almost 2 hours, weed the garden for 30 minutes and those two drink were 240 calories, hardly half the days worth.

    seriously Dwayne, stop drinking those calories from Starbucks!! And what else are you drinking throughout the day. Disco John might have talked about total calorie intake being key but we all know that you need protein in your diet to balance out all those carbs and fat.

    Try a protein shake with iced coffee and light soy milk. Make it at home and put the money you save at Starbucks toward a trainer to whoop your ass!

    I do need to add in some more protein. Yesterday I had a ton of veggies and it did some bad things to me! Need to add chicken to my stir fry!
