Journal Update: Bleck

I am writing this with a bit of sadness as I report that I have had a crappy few days. It sucks going from running a 5K on Saturday, and having a great workout on Tuesday, playing tennis on Monday and Tuesday to eating like I am about to hibernate July away. What the hell is wrong with me?!

To say that I am becoming frustrated would be a colossal understatement. Time to get my head in the game and back into this challenge before Louis and crew run away with it. I hate even thinking about weighing in this weekend. Sorry for the concise post and the lack of detail, but by this time do you really want me to recap what I had at McDonalds or Steak and Shake?

I went to the pull today (Wednesday) and took my shirt off to swim with the kids and for the first time since I have been back I felt bad about my appearance. I have taken the shirt off to go swimming quite a few times this summer, but now that I am not making progress the shame creeps back in. It is such a weird feeling to have, and in a way counterproductive.

Anyway, once more unto the breach… My trainer is going to make me weigh tomorrow and I am not looking forward to it. Maybe I should have thought of that before I shoveled all that crap down my pie hole.

    It’s upsetting to see you struggle so much…at the same time your best is only as good as it is in any given moment. Don’t be afraid to call yesterday your cheat meal, and get to it today.

    If you sit and dwell on the problems, you will never fix anything. If you broke your arm you would go to a doctor and get a cast, not pick at it and play with it to see how it got broken.

    You got it man…

    Anyways this competition is losing its fun because you’re making it too easy for me; maybe you should send over that Aston Martin to my house now.

    I am with Lou on this. We all slip but today is a new day. Look forward not back. And remember, to gain 5 lbs you have to have overdone it by 17500 calories net of your exercose and RMR, so just relax, take a few deep breaths, set your jaw and get back to it.
