Today (and yesterday too) is a good day!

So normally I blog about the day before and today I am going to try to blog about what has happened both today and yesterday.  First of all I ran for the first time outside in my neighborhood today and finished a 5k in a mildly hilly terrain in 39.02 minutes!  I am happy with that number for now considering how sore I was.  I never thought I would be running and enjoying it, but that seems to be happening more and more.

So far today I have been on plan, I had a Rocco Dispirito Peach Lassi Smoothie from the Now Eat This Diet book. It was actually really tasty, and reminded me of an orange push’n’pop.  I also had a Kind bar after the run.  I had two corn tortillas and chicken and veggie fajitas for lunch at a local tex mex place.  It was tasty and very on plan for me.  Dinner is going to be lean meatloaf from Lara’s Lean Beef, per my son’s request. I have been meaning to do a review of this product forever so this will be the good time to do it.

Another great note about today is that I am back to 290 after a brief up swing on the weight.  Trying to follow the new diet plan and reorganizing is working out so far.  Going to keep on keepin on!

Yesterday was good since I met up with my new trainer Mary, and we had our first session where we spent quite a bit of time talking about what I wanted while on the treadmill.  I decided that I wanted her to help me do things I hated doing and that is going to work.  We did some cardio intervals and then wet into TRX and core stuff.  Good workout and my shirt was soaked.

Food yesterday was pretty spot on.  I  had a Kind bar and a glass for milk for breakfast.  I had a Blueberry smoothie from Rocco Dispirito’s book once again and it was really tasty.  I am still working on mastering the blender to not make messes, but that is still a big work in progress.  At Starbucks I had an iced coffee with splenda.  In the afternoon I had some bbq popchips for a snack and then went to have dinner with my wife at Texas Roadhouse.  I had half of a baked potato, about 20 peanuts, a 4oz filet, and a side salad with no croutons and blue cheese on the side.  I very good day over for food.

I feel good like I have restarted things, and tomorrow is weights day with my personal trainer.  Hope you are all having success as well, keep at it!
