4 days till resort: Great few days!

It has been a great few days as far as weightloss efforts go.  I have been to the gym everyday, and eaten on plan each day!  Mix that in with going to the Indianapolis Children’s Museum with my wife and kids and it adds up to feeling pretty good.

We have eaten out at Cracker Barrel, but I was good there so that makes me feel better all around.  Every other meals has been at home and I have tried some good new foods.  I am glad I have pulled things together before I go back to the resort.  I really wanted to get to 290 so I could get to 285ish after being there.  That is not going to happen, but I will be close!


For the past two days I have lost my fitbit (for good I fear this time) and I have not worn my heart monitor at the gym.


On Monday I brought my kettlebell to the gym and did my couch to 5k week 7 day 3 workout.  After the couch to 5k I did 30 minutes of two handed swings with the kettlebell.  I tell you that is the best workout ever.

Tuesday I did treading for 45 minutes and then walked another 15 minutes to cool down.  Always a great workout.

Wednesday was week 8 day 1 of my couch to 5k program and I am almost completely through it.  Sam has told me to expect to run a 5k at camp so I hope I am ready.  I had to stop during the 28 minute run twice, but that is because my legs were so sore from kettlebells.


It has been good each day, I ate grilled chicken with a baked potato, green beans and a small salad with about 1 TBSP of blue cheese at Cracker Barrel on Tuesday on the way to the children’s museum.  I have had a Kind bar for breakfast everyday this week so far!  Not sure that is a great thing, but at least I had something for breakfast right?  I have made turkey burgers, grilled filet mignon out on the grill, and had some vegetarian thai style curry (sans coconut milk) and they have all been great.  One semi cheat that was within calories limits was my wife and I split a 200 calories Reese’s big cup.  So 100 calories for a dessert is not bad after dinner.

I promise to start taking some more pictures soon, it has been a very busy week getting ready to leave and handling all the things that pop up around here.
