Day 28 post resort, How many times does it take… ?

March 9, 2011

How many times does it take to succeed?  As many as it takes is the only answer I can come up with.  This week has been very challenging for some reason, and I am not sure if it is kid related stress or what.  The kids seem to be going crazy from 3-4:30 and it seems to make me go all crazy ravenous on whatever is close at hand.  Starting a cycle like this is extremely depressing especially after having so much success.  You just expect things to march right along and you get stuck.  I feel like I am spinning my wheels and getting nowhere and I only have my weak will to blame.  I keep saying tomorrow will be better, and I workout and then BAM I just blow up again.  It never gets easier, you just get better at planning for it and continue trying.  That is all I can do.

My workout did go well and at least I have that going for me.  I am in talks to go back to the resort for a one week refresher, and I just hope it works out.  At first I just wanted to do it to lose a little extra weight and get some good interviews for the blog.  Now I feel like it might help me get back on track.  I have to be able to do this on my own with the tools I received there, but a couple of rough days and I am already worried.

My fitbit #fitstats for 3/08/2011: 11,602 steps and 6.5 miles traveled.

Watch Calories Burned: 544 calories

I did week 5 day two of the couch to 5k program.  I am getting excited about my upcoming 5k in Baltimore and am glad I will be ready for it as long as I keep this pace up.  I ran for 8 minutes twice for this workout and that felt great.  I think I may be ready sooner rather than later and that is some good news.

Breakfast was an english muffin and almond butter with a touch of honey on it and some skim milk.  Lunch was miracle shirtaki noodles with veggies and muir glen organic marinara.  That was my first time having the noodles and I enjoyed them so much I had them again for dinner with my wife.  The texture is not as good as spaghetti but at 0 calories and nutrients I will take it.  It was before and after dinner I was bad, I had two 80 calorie luna bars, a big handful of dark chocolate covered almonds, and a tablespoon of regular Jif peanut butter.  As I mentioned earlier I had the noodles and marinara for dinner again and afterwards I had two 100 calorie bags of popchips.  It was not a circuit of fast food restaurants but mentally it was just as damaging to me.  MUST DO BETTER.

N/A No new ones so far.  I will take some pictures of noodles soon.

You are LIVING a reality! This will NOT be easy….IT’s easy to lose weight, it’s not easy to “mentally” lose weight!!

My piece of advice? When the kids start going nuts around 3-430 get down with them and PLAY PLAY PLAY!!! Granted, I only have a 20 month old….but come 4pm, my own son has SOOOOO many wiggles, so we play TAG (and he LOVES IT). Instead of feeling frazzled, just play!! It will burn calories and will be less stressful!

    try it out!!!
