Day 25 post resort, One more hike up and down Piestewa, shopping and another good dinner on my wife’s work.

March 5, 2011

Comments/Thoughts:

Well each day is better out here.  I did another hike up and down Piestewa, and now I believe I have the name correct.  The peak has a very interesting history and you should check it out at Wikipedia.  I enjoy that hike and it is challenging for me since it is straight up.  I burned almost 1300 calories again which is great considering how we eat out here.  We have a scale in the room so I have been checking and have neither gained nor lost which is ideal considering how things are going out here.  I am going to hit it hard when I go home.

I had a great time blogging at Starbucks once again, and my wife and I went shopping and I got to go to a Best Buy!  I love that store and am anxiously awaiting for the new one to open where we live.

After shopping we met up with Jen’s conference group and went to Cowboy Ciao in Scottsdale for dinner.  I had decided that I was only going to eat little bits of all the amazing food and proceeded to do so and share quite a bit with my wife.  Was it a healthy meal?  No, did I have sensible portions and leave without feeling sick?  Yes!  Finally I got that under control.  I am going to have to be on point for the next week or two to get back to 90% healthy since this 10% has been huge.  I have not gained any weight so at least I am balancing it.

Statistics:

Once again fitbit data will be added later

Watch calories burned: 1280 calories!  That hike is amazing!

Exercise:

Hiking!  Almost got to 1300 calories again on the hike!  It is amazing weather out here and the hikes are beautiful.  I wish I had more time to explore Camelback and some other great places.  I want to come back,  just have to convince the wife.

Food:

Breakfast was a Larabar on the run since I woke up late.  Lunch was once again a chicken salad sandwich at Starbucks and I had some of my wife’s vegging thin crust pizza late in the afternoon.  For dinner I had bites of all the appetizers (wild boar meatball, crab enchilada, quesadilla du jour, tiger shrimp, and bruschetta.)  I shared a Stetson mixed salad with my wife which was FANTASTIC, one of the best salads I have ever had.  My actual meal was Puerco Lento (slow roasted pork on a bed of fingerling potato casserole and topper with a shallot marmelade.)  I ate almost half of it and enjoyed it immensely.  We did have dessert and it was a piece of peanut butter brownie, I had about one third of it.
