Day 10 at the Biggest Loser Resort in Utah.

Another Tuesday down, and just one more to go.  It was a good but very challenging day for me.  I hit a wall today in my second workout session and it was hard just to survive the class.  After the initial rush of feeling better on Monday I kind of crashed today.  The good news is I survived, but I wish I could have given it a little more in my classes.

Day 9 at the Biggest Loser Resort in Utah.

It is nice to finally be blogging about days as I have done them.  Today was assessment hike day where we are loaded up and show the hiking guides our relative speed/comfort on hikes.  It is a good process and gets you into a van with relatively  speedy hikers.  It is great to have groups that are tighter together and finish at about the same time and they do a pretty good job of getting us put in the correct vans after this day.

Day 8 at the Biggest Loser Resort in Utah.

A day of rest is just what I needed!  It was a good day and started off with a little extra sleep and a breakfast with some new friends. Shortly after breakfast Sean, Kim and I went to see Arthur Christmas at the movie theater and I really enjoyed it.

Day 7 at the Biggest Loser Resort in Utah.

Finally so close to the actual day I am on!  Saturday was an outstanding day!  The optional hike I went on was with Kim, Sean and Brendi and it was not too challenging, but very scenic and interesting.  It is called Anasazi and is right out behind the resort.  There are ancient pictographs chiseled into the rock formations and I think some of them depict aliens, but maybe that is just me being my crazy self.  It was good to hang out with the new friends all at once on the same hike, Kim, Brendi and I were in the same van all week, but Sean was in the advanced van since he has been here so long is a hiking champ.

Day 6 at the Biggest Loser Resort in Utah.

I felt good this morning as I got ready for my hike and am surprised how not sore I am.  It was a good day overall especially since I got to go to the casino at night with Brendi, Sean and Kim.  I won 58 dollars on the slot machines, but more importantly to me I got to have a iced coffee with a splash of cream and a few splenda.  Wow did that make the difference in how I was feeling.  It was a good time and I appreciate Sean taking us a ton.

Day 5 at the Biggest Loser Resort in Utah

It is sad to be away from my family this Thanksgiving, but I can not think of a better place to be. I am very blessed to be here and I took stock of that on Thursday. It was a great day of food, friends and crazy difficult hikes. The day started out going to the hike and finding that the entrance was closed to the performing arts high school where the hike path started. It was hilarious to watch Sione, of biggest loser fame, make a hole in the fence for us to sneak through to get to the Saddle hike.

Day 4 at the Biggest Loser Resort in Utah

Wednesday was a surprisingly good day.  Once again I thought I would be plagued by fatigue or soreness but I felt pretty good all things considered.  I hope it is just that even though I have gained some weight back I have carried over some decent conditioning.  It is hard to judge since I am not physically at the point where I left the last time.  My caffeine headaches are gone which is great!

Day 3 at the Biggest Loser Resort in Utah

As these days grow distant it gets harder for me to comment.  I am going to try to catch up this morning (Friday) and get Day 3-5 up.  Day 3 was Tuesday and I was surprised that I was not more sore.  I felt good as we got ready and went to Scout Cave.  The group I am with is in Van 1 and I am the token guy for the van.  My hiking has slowed down considerably, but I really enjoyed the pace and talking with the other hikers on the hike.  I am still feeling a bit frustrated with myself and a little down while I am here.  It is great to have made a few good friends that help keep my spirits up.
